it turns out to be a slightly more punkified version of the late-80s/v.v.early-90s edwardian downtown look that i used to love. one of the first outfits i had made for me was a lace top with a boxy jacket and a skirt with a bustle. right out of the pages of details, the magazine that was, a few years later, to become what you know it to be now.

im a little nostalgic for my 80s grandiosity. punk since then, with the exception of the whole mod thing, has been so blah blah blah. even goth seemed to get a little gap-y. what do you do when you are the sort of girl who used to have a closet full of insane-looking cocktail dresses?
you go to rome and buy your first valentino and galliano. that's what it's come to. i'll post later. both are ridiculous, in different ways.
