Couture
1. Dior
2. Schiaperelli
3. Yohji
4. Givenchy
5. Hm. McQueen? Ghesquiere? Galliano? Ballenciaga? Vionnet?
Everyone else thinks Chanel or YSL or Valentino, but I've never been into any of those three, beyond the odd piece. some of the chanel couture stuff is beautiful, but it doesnt really sing to me the way the above designers do.
Post-Couture:
1. Prada
2. Maybe McQueen belongs here? or Westwood? Otherwise, I'd say slimane, if only for bringing borderline couture/RTW types like mcqueen and westood to the slightly more RTW style.
3. DVF
4. Mary Quant
5. Calvin Klein, if only for the scope of influence
